The ShotKam has a fixed 18-degree field-of-view; this is meant to replicate the sharp focus of your eye's retina. This 18-degree FOV is effectively 4X zoom as is perfect for targets between 5-100 yards. This is not adjustable and the ShotKam cannot zoom in and out. For targets beyond 100 meters, you can use a video player to zoom further into the ShotKam videos. Suggested article: How far can I see the pellets?
Video Resolution and Frame Rate:
Full HD 1080p at 100 frames-per-second. The powerful A12 processor is further programmed to pick up small particles in order to capture clay pieces and pellets.
Playback Recording Speed:
The playback speed can be changed, but we recommend leaving it on the default "Normal" speed. The ShotKam records 100 frames per second in Full HD, then as it saves the video onto the internal memory card, it slows each video down to 1/3 speed. The purpose of this is to replicate how the human eye sees a moving target (in one-third speed) and is unique to ShotKam's design. If you record a video with your iPhone and play it back, the target will look very fast. If you watch a ShotKam video, the target will looks exactly like how you perceived it when shooting.
This means that your videos will play back at 33.3 frames-per-second which is perfect for a smooth video and clear understanding. We recommend keeping this "Normal", but you can adjust this setting within the ShotKam mobile app as follows:
- Slower (1/2 speed of "Normal"): The video will play 16.6 frames per second and be very slow.
- Faster (2x speed of "Normal"): The video will play 66.6 frames per second and be fast.
- Full Speed: The video will play 100 frames per second and be extremely fast. This is not recommended as most devices cannot process such a high data-rate (1080p x 100 fps).
The ShotKam's video format is MP4, or MPEG- 4 Part 14, which allows for multimedia video streaming across any device, including Android and Apple devices. You can upload and share the videos directly into any social media platform: Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc.
