How do I connect to the app?
Start with your ShotKam OFF and fully charged. To connect to ShotKam WiFi, hold the Control Button for 3 to 7 seconds, then let go. You will see two yellow LEDs as it searches for your device, then one LED will turn green as it establishes a connection. Once connected to WiFi, open your ShotKam app and click the "Gear" icon to access your settings.
What settings should I use?
We recommend adjusting your "Target Type" and "Shooting Device" only. This allows the ShotKam to calibrate to your gun's specific movements.
Different "Shooting Device" Options in the ShotKam app:
Shotgun: Over-and-Under, Semi-Auto, Pump
Rifle: Semi-Auto, Bolt/Single
Target Types Explained
Each "Target Type" has distinct differences in the ShotKam's Sleep Mode initiation and recording time.
Clays: Default setting. Sleep mode initiates after 20 seconds inactivity to conserve battery. Open and close the gun's action or press the Control Button to waken the ShotKam. Normal recording time is 2 seconds pre-shot and 1-second post-shot. Videos will be 9-15 seconds long in 1/3 playback speed. Multiple shots taken within 5 seconds of each other will be saved as one long video.
Flying Birds: Sleep mode initiates after 30 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery. Close the gun's action, press the Control Button, or bump the stock of the gun to waken the ShotKam. Normal recording time is 3 seconds pre-shot and 3 seconds post-shot. Videos will be 18-30 seconds long in 1/3 playback speed. Multiple shots taken within 9 seconds of each other will be saved as one long video.
Ground Game: Sleep mode initiates after 300 seconds (5 minutes) of inactivity to conserve battery. Either press the Control Button or bump the stock of the gun to waken the ShotKam. Reticle Types Explained
The ShotKam's patented reticle (crosshair or dot) is customizable, and there are several different options within the mobile app. This is a personal preference, so there is no wrong choice. Some like the crosshair option because it is easier to identify gun canting, then some like the red dot option because it mirrors the bead of the gun:
- Red Dot: Most popular choice for hunting as may like how it represents the bead of the gun barrel.
- Black Crosshair: Most popular choice for clay shooting against grass or sky backgrounds.
- Orange Crosshair: Factory default setting; most popular choice for clay shooting against busy backgrounds because the orange crosshair contrasts against the trees.
Now continue to instructions on how to adjust the reticle in the video:
