✅ Quick Compatibility Checklist
Before reviewing the full list below, confirm your device meets these requirements:
iPhone 8 or newer
iPad 2017 (5th Gen) or newer
Android device running Android 9 or newer
Supports 5GHz WiFi (required for Gen 4 and Gen 4 Mini)
Not a Samsung Galaxy A Series, Huawei, Motorola, or Xiaomi device
If your device meets all of the above, it should work with ShotKam.
Apple Devices
✅ Compatible iPhone
You can use the following iPhones with Gen 3, Gen 4, and Gen 4 Mini:
iPhone 8 and all newer models
✅ Compatible iPad
You can use the following iPads with Gen 3, Gen 4, and Gen 4 Mini:
All iPad Pro models
iPad 5th Generation through iPad 10th Generation
iPad Air 3rd Generation and newer
iPad Mini 5th Generation, 6th Generation, and newer (2020 or later)
❌ Incompatible iPad
-
All iPads released in 2015 or earlier. These processors cannot support ShotKam’s high video data rate.
Android Devices
✅ Compatible Android Phones & Tablets
You can use the following Android devices with Gen 3, Gen 4, and Gen 4 Mini:
Most Android devices running Android 9 (Pie) or later
Samsung Galaxy S21 series and newer
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 series and newer
Samsung Galaxy Tab F8 and newer
Gen 4 & Gen 4 Mini require 5GHz WiFi support. This is different from 5G cellular service — please confirm your device supports 5GHz WiFi.
❌ Incompatible Android with Gen 4 / Gen 4 Mini
Some devices support 5GHz WiFi but do not have processors strong enough to handle the Gen 4 / Gen 4 Mini video data rate. If videos flicker or lag inside the app, this indicates a processor limitation with your mobile device (not related to the ShotKam device itself). Videos can still be viewed on a computer using the USB cable.
The following devices are not compatible with Gen 4 / Gen 4 Mini:
All Samsung Galaxy A Series phones
All Huawei phones
All Motorola phones
All Xiaomi phones
Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 and A8
Android devices running Android 8.1 or older
❌ Incompatible Android with Gen 3
Android devices running Android 8.1 or older
To check your Android OS version:
Go to Settings > About Phone (or About Device) > Android Version
Google Pixel Compatibility
✅ Compatible Google Pixel Phones
Pixel 3 and newer
For Pixel 3 devices, please see our separate article: ShotKam and Google Pixel 3.
Microsoft Surface Pro Tablets
The ShotKam mobile app is not compatible with Microsoft Surface tablets. However, you can still watch videos on a Surface device using the USB cable. The Surface must be treated like a Windows laptop.
Reasoning: The ShotKam app is only compatible with iOS and Android operating systems, not Microsoft OS.
Kindle Fire Tablets
The ShotKam mobile app is not compatible with Amazon’s Fire OS used on Kindle Fire tablets.
Troubleshooting
If you cannot see the ShotKam WiFi network on an Android device using Gen 3, first try a different compatible mobile device to determine whether the issue is device-related.
If the WiFi network does not appear on two compatible devices:
Ensure the ShotKam is fully charged.
Confirm the LED lights show green + yellow together (WiFi mode).
Check that the ShotKam WiFi name was not manually renamed in the app — review all available WiFi network names.
If you have tried two compatible devices, fully charged the ShotKam, confirmed green + yellow LEDs, and still do not see the ShotKam WiFi network, please email Support@ShotKam.com for further assistance.
