Customizing your settings

Customize your ShotKam Gen 4 and Gen 4 Mini settings for a personalized shooting experience. Learn how to adjust reticle styles, video formats, sensitivity levels, and more.

User modes and settings 

Shooting Device options in the ShotKam app: 

  • Shotgun: Over-and-under, Semi-Auto, Pump
    • For side-by-side shotguns, please use the Over-and-under setting. 
  • Rifle: Semi-Auto, Bolt/Single
  • Bow/ Crossbow

Clays (Default Setting):

  • Video Resolution: 2.7k at 120 fps. 3x Zoom.
  • Sleep Mode: Initiates after 20 seconds inactivity to conserve battery (open/ close the gun's action or press the control button to waken). 
  • Normal Recording Time: 2 seconds pre-shot and 1 second post-shot. Videos will be 9-15 seconds long in 1/3 playback speed. Multiple shots taken within 5 seconds of each other will be saved as one long video. 

Flying Birds:

  • Video Resolution: 2.7k at 120 fps. 3x Zoom.
  • Sleep Mode: Starts after 30 seconds of no shooting to save battery (close the gun's action, press the control button, or bump the gun to waken).
  • Normal Recording Time: 3 seconds pre-shot and 3 seconds post-shot. Videos will be 18-30 seconds long in 1/3 playback speed. Multiple shots taken within 9 seconds of each other will be saved as one long video. 

Ground Game:

  • Video Resolution: 1080p at 120 fps. 4x Zoom.
  • Sleep Mode: Initiates after 300 seconds (5 minutes) of inactivity to conserve battery (open/ close the gun's action, press the control button, or bump the stock of the gun to waken).
  • Normal Recording Time: 15 seconds pre-shot and 20 seconds post-shot.
  • Videos will be about 1 minute and 45 seconds long in 1/3 playback speed. Multiple shots taken within 10 seconds of each other will be saved as one long video.

How To Adjust Zoom on Gen 4 and Gen 4 Mini

The Gen 4 and Gen 4 Mini have digital zoom, so it will automatically zoom based on your target (Clays, Flying Birds, or Big Game). If needed, you can change the zoom and field-of-view on your ShotKam with the ShotKam mobile app.

1. Connect to the ShotKam's WiFi and open the newest ShotKam mobile app.
2. Select Shooting Settings, then tap on Advanced Settings. 
3. Choose "Video Format," then you will see multiple options to adjust the magnification. Click here to learn more about each format.

Reticle options

The ShotKam's patented reticle (crosshair or red dot) is customizable, so you can move it, select the style you want, or turn it off completely. 

ShotKam App ➡ Shooting Settings ➡ Reticle

  • Red dot reticle option available on the ShotKam camera in the ShotKam mobile app.Red Dot: Popular choice because it resembles the gun bead. 
  • Crosshair reticle option available on the ShotKam camera in the ShotKam mobile app. Black Crosshair: Most popular choice for clay shooting against grass or sky. 
  • Orange crosshair reticle option available on the ShotKam camera in the ShotKam mobile app.Red Crosshair: Recommended for fixing a canted mount. 

If you would like to remove the reticle, select Reticle OFF. This will not affect videos already saved.
